  • Yes!

  • Yes, at this time, the van is registered for use for residents of The Meadows long term care facility in Swift Current.

  • Yes. The van can be booked for many purposes. We are proud that for the first time, 220+ residents of The Meadows can choose to attend medical appointments without stress of how to get there, or attend Bronco and 57’s games, visit the Art Gallery and community events, even take a drive in the country to visit the farms or towns they previously called home. Because of this capacity, Meadows recreation therapy staff can expand their programming to include more residents, regardless of physical abilities and wheelchair requirements. Programming may include the kite festival, SC AG & Ex events, the list goes on!

This van will return the freedom of choice to Meadows residents to engage in the activities and events they’ve always enjoyed.

  • Our 100% wheelchair-accessible van can accommodate 8 passengers at once, with space for 4 residents requiring wheelchairs and 4 ambulatory residents (including those who require walkers).

Floor track grids throughout the bay allow flexible seating configurations to suit every rider.

  • The cost for a one stop return trip within Swift Current is $10/ride per person to cover the cost of fuel.  Additional stops or out of town trips will be accommodated as schedules/volunteer drivers are available.  Added costs will be incurred depending on destinations, time, and fuel prices. Long distance or multiple stop ride requests can be sent to SWAVI booking agent.

Leave a text or voicemail at 306-750-7797 or email silverwingsvan@gmail.com for more information/pricing.

REAL STORIES,

REAL IMPACT

Leland and Jason Teichroeb are brothers who are residents at The Meadows. Both are big fans of their favourite teams; the Broncos, 57s and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. They miss not being able to attend these games

Despite planning months ahead, Jake and Margaret’s family struggled to secure transportation for a wedding, medical appointments, and even a nearby family gathering. Their experience highlights the real and ongoing need for accessible, reliable transportation.

Silver Wings Accessible Van Inc. is a registered charity, made possible through the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers like you.

If you’re interested in volunteering or making a donation, we’d be grateful for your support.
